Instablogs - Mobile - Hillary Clinton’s statement on Jewish settlements angers Arab leaders

Palestinians were failed once again by the American Administration in regards with the Jewish settlements’ freezing on Palestinian land. American president Barak Obama’s team apparently was unsuccessful in “convincing” Israeli government of freezing the settlements; a mission that no previous American president was successful at or even wanted to be successful at in the first place. However, this failure will definitely affect the peace process, an issue that no previous american president got a Nobel prize for; which makes this failure a great one for Obama’s image in the world of those who strive for peace.

Absolutely - the pro Israeli lobby is hurting Israel by making up excuses justifying Israel's harsh suppression of the Palestinians. As long as the United States keeps making excuses for the Israeli government nothing will change unless it is changed by violence one way or the other.

So America admits the settlements are illegal, and yet wants to allow Israel to continue building illegal settlements while negotiations are ongoing. Isn't that kinda like allowing a murderer to continue murdering while plea bargaining with the DA?

All the US is doing is showing that they will support Israel in any action Israel wants to take, illegal or not. The Declaration going through Congress today is even more proof of that.

Netanyahu is the real problem in the settlement issue. He knows that he is backed up by the strongest support imaginable from the US Congress and both democrats and republicans will not go up against the powerful Israeli lobbyists.
